Cal Phillips bio and history all started back in 1977, fast forwarding today to Eco Paint, Inc. Cal started Cal's Home Improvements in 1977. Starting a home improvement business early in life was just as rewarding as it is now, mainly helping the local community take care of home repairs, and concerns, having that building trade born in him for two prior generations. Putting his self through College, this was a perfect part-time job, doing various jobs from wood repairs and carpentry, electrical, plumbing, drywall, siding repair and siding replacements, to of course many local house painting services. Receiving 3 Degrees, 1 in Business Management, 1 Drafting, and other more recently in Lead Abatement for Contractors and Supervisors from the University of Cincinnati back in 2005. The College who wrote the "Book" for EPA's Lead Program.

Cal's house painting service quickly became a passion, enjoying the outside, a residential exterior painting job was always welcomed. Bought his first airless spray rig back in 1982, which was a Graco 495 Sherwin-Williams Nova. Getting first major contract remodeling 12 Time-Share condos out on Lake Palestine, in East Texas, remodeling all 12, painting inside and out. Airless spray rig came in very handy, instead of using the older version pot gun with compressor, always having to re-fill 1 qt. pot. It was at that point, Cal was really on to something. As a Handy-man, in the general home improvements field, it seemed like every job completed, included some degree of residential painting, which he enjoyed most of all. Having a much smaller operation back then, had already completed 100's of interior painting jobs, as well as exterior ones. By 1980 it became apparent house painting was Cal's speciality. When Cal decided to do this, he made a commitment to his self and community that he wanted to be the Best this industry has to offer for that particular sector of home improvement.
By 1993, Cal changed company name from Cal's Home Improvement and as a sole proprietor, to Eco Paint Specialist's Inc. Incorporating the term Eco Paint into company name, being the originator of the term Eco Paint. Way before Green Earth Friendly Eco Paint was invented as a retail item. During that time, the acronym Eco was thought of a more economical sense, quickly becoming known as well as ecological. By 1999-2000 the First Green Earth Friendly paint was introduced, using lower V.O.C's (Volatile Odor Content) within water-borne latex paint mixtures. Cal has kept both meanings close to his thoughts filling out paint quotes, while keeping the painting cost it's lowest for the consumer, saving the Earth, one home at a time.
